Default 4 barrel EFI swap question

Mine is the 1984 C4. Lets just say for arguments sake that I wanted to put a modern 650 cfm efi on my car. With a low profile intake to go with it. Has anyone done it? If so any links to that here or another place? I say 650 because that is the smallest usually offered in a 4 barrel and seems right for a 350 engine for good driveability.

Thanks

Russ

Fi tech, holley, or fast all work fine and all are 850 cfm and they will work great. Just install on of those. The holley or fi tech are probably the easiest to install.

You will need FPR if using crossfire in tank fuel pump, to reduce fuel pressure. Normally the issue relates to air cleaner to hood clearance when going carb.

^He'd actually have to go the other way and increase pressure. The "modern 650 cfm efi" would have it's own regulator, but the car would need way more fuel pump.

I think this will be your biggest hurdle. Getting a decent intake, TB/carb and air filter under the hood isn't the easiest. Maybe a carb hat to a remote filter?

He didn't say anything about going to a carb. He's talking about an aftermarket EFI in his '84.

I did a carb on my 85, Wynand Street Warrior manifold, you will need a regular distributor / heli.

Based on which unit you choose the stock fuel pressure should be workable for EFI, a pressure reducer is required for a carb.

That doesn't look like it fits under the stock hood...does it?

The distributor requirement would depend on the brand/type of aftermarket EFI system. There are plenty that would work with the stock distributor.

The Weiand 925-8120WND is a dual-plane ; 3.5"-4.5" tall, with a 0-5500 RPM range. The Weiand Team G 925-7530WND is a Single-plane :3.65"-4.56", with a 2500-7200 RPM range. These are a couple of the shortest and best flowing intakes I know of. The Holly Sniper is 3 3/4" tall from base to Air Filter flange. They have a special Filter base that fits it... I think it has a 1" drop from the flange.
