Default CHROME PLENUM COVER (HELP)

I purchased a 1993-96 Custom Plenum Cover (Part # 36060) from Eckler's for a whopping $160.00 & I am totally disappointed! The ad indicates "bolt on installation" except that sure is NOT correct! First the bolt holes are too dang small & they do not line up with the Plenum bolt holes. Secondly, they fail to advise you that you must drill 2 holes in the chrome plate so that the little "tabs" that hold the plastic covers down will secure properly. Well, I figured I could drill out the holes to fit the 4 bolts in to the Plenum, but I had to drill them out fairly larger than the original holes to make up for the misplaced original holes. OK, I could deal with that, but then I figured out that 2 more holes have to be lined up & drilled to fit the "tabs" in the covers. Then to further blow my cool, the dang cover does not cover the entire Plenum, but leaves about 2 inches of the "ridged" Plenum exposed. Well if that is not enough, while drilling & enlarging the holes, the chrome got scratched by the "flinging" metal scrap DANG I'M MAD! I intend on returning this piece of fine workmanship to Eckler's, hoping to get a FULL refund, even after re-drilling out the 4 bolt holes & a few scratches. MY PROBLEM, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I MIGHT PURCHASE A CHROME PLATE TO COVER THE "RIDGED" PLENUM AREA? I show my 93 C4 & I really would like to chrome this area. Thanks for all help & this site is GREAT for novice's like myself. :nopity

Not sure where to get another part, but Good Luck with Ecklers and their so called Customer Service. I had a similar experience, and the second you modify a part, they get attitude about returning it. Do yourself a favor and ask to talk to Pam and explain it to her. I went thru them all several times and she was the only one with a clue.
Good Luck :flag

Good luck on getting a refund. Ecklers has been taking a beating on customer service here and if you modified the part it may be yours forever.

I had to modify a hole on a TB plate I bought but that was only a $20 part. Don't know that I'd have started drilling away on a $160 piece.

Good luck on getting a refund. I have a rather unknown website that has the type of thing you are looking for under the C4 parts...they have a complete show kit with valve covers and everything which is really expensive and then they have an "economy" version which only includes the stuff covering the intake and fuel rails. Go to http://www.designspec.com and go to C4 section. Hope that helps...if you are willing to spend the $ I think it would turn out great (I have never bought from there so can't say for sure).
