I have the problem that the liquid has to be chequed very frecuently because the level get low very quickly. Some friends in the area have the same problem. Anyone can explain the source of the problem? Anyone knows of an answer?
There is only three possible places for the fluid to leak. The clutch master cylinder, the hose or the slave cylinder. Check for wetness around those places. Also this may be a normal thing in your part of the continent. Maybe someone from that part of the country can help narrow it down.
I found my leak after replacing the clutch. The new pressure plate was stiffer, and it caused the seal to let go on the master cylinder when I tested it out. The leak was INSIDE the car, where the M/C shaft comes through the firewall.
Corvette Central had clutch master cylinders for my '94 for $70. All other parts stores in my area wanted $90 to $115. Napa had a rebuild kit orderable for $30. Since I did not know what was in the kit, or if I would need any special tools, I opted for the parts from CC.
Much like a master cyl kit the clutch master cyl is just a piston with some seals........it's a pretty straightforward deal ......... but if you get it apart and the hard anodizing is worn out of the cylinder bore you need a master anyway. I agree about the quality of fluid down there ........ might want to order some from up here in the states........ :seeya
