Default Need help! At my wits end!

Long story! 1988 Vette was running great last spring . It ran a little hotter than I like, but well within specs, until the main fan motor burned out. It got a little hot, but not enough to turn on the warning light. I got it home and then left to go north for the summer. Came back and installed a new autozone fan motor. It still overheats! I changed the thermostat twice. Now running a 160 * but going to change it again to a 180. I checked, cleaned between the radiator. Changed the belt. etc, etc. I have made sure the autozone fan turns the right rotation.I have both fans running all the time. One post mentioned a radiator hose collapsing. Will check that next. I think a bad head gasket would have other symptoms like white smoke and stuff. It doesn't overheat quickly. Creeps up one degree at a time over an hour or so on the road.
TIA

I would suspect that the replacement auto zone fan does not move the same among of air as stock and that is causing your issue. If all was fine before and this was the only change, start there. You did additional cleaning which should help the issue.

Is coolant properly mixed, Because if you have to much Coolant than Water you Can have a Overheat problem. Flow rate is reduced fluid thicker and heat Transference is also reduced as Bonus Kick in the Pants.

….. Is the air dam still intact under the nose ? … without it the air flow through the radiator won't be adequate … the fan is there to help the cooling at low or no vehicle speed … airflow takes over once the car is in motion … I suspect that the lower tubes on your radiator are clogged …..

That air scoop is like a vacuum. Picks up ever leaf or plastic bag from the road. Look up in there and clean the crap out. If that doesn't work, install an aftermarket radiator. I installed a Champion 3 core in my 92 base model. https://www.championradiators.com/Ch...ator-1989-1996
