I've got 1996 running with resister ,the vats would not let it start but with this resister across ignition circuit it starts ,resister reading 4.71 ohms can you tell what # key blank that fits [1-15] ?I'm thinking #11 that value is 4570 but the decimal point there I'm confused , thanks

Engineering/design is 4750 with min/max 4560/4960 I believe. Move your decimals!! Did you have a correct key #11 that read that value at column base? Any number of possible issues.

that was my trouble my key lost its diode , and not even continuity ,went to locksmith and Chevy dealer and nether could read key , I new answer before I left my house but was doublechecking about no reading on key , so ordered #11 key blank and hopes that will fix all when cut to fit ignition . thanks again
