i"m new to the corvetts, i might be wrong unless my eyes are deceiving me but everything i have read about this car says it came with forged pistons.
there was nothing in writing he owed me some money couldn"t pay me back so i got my collateral,it was his dream car! i"ve always wanted a vette so now i"ve got one!!
Actually all the Corvettes up to and including the 85 had forged pistons. That was one of the things that was so special about them. The high performance (L-82) also had steel cranck,4bolt, and 2.02 heads with screw in studs and guide plates. In 86 Corvette went the then new Hyperetic pistons.
You may have a fraud claim against this guy. If you are serious about it, check with an attorney. What is required to make such a claim varies from state to state. Even if you have no contractual claim, you may have an "equitable" remedy. Meaning, although the contract (assuming one exists) does say anything about the rebuilt engine, he fraudulently induced you to enter into the contract by making those claims orally. Again, if you are seriously considering suing him, speak to an attorney. Or, if you would like to get some free legal advice, contact a local law school. They run clinics with local attorneys and law students and provide basic services free of charge.
ouch, i feel ur pain, when i bought my 81 way back when, i ended up with a complete lemon........ i had friends check it out, but they had "temporarily" fixed things, and said theyd fix the computer for the carb too...... i didnt know anything whatsoever back then, and apparently what "fix the computer" means is "ripping out all the wires from your car so shortly after you get to take the whole thing apart.....
oh btw.... wasnt even the stock engine lol, i got SCREWED haha
