I have a mini ram ,an bank to bank tuning, can't seem to get the #8 plug to burn clean. Wires seem to be ok, plug foul up after a short time at slow speed.any ideas ? There are a lot mini ram out there an I can't be the only one haveing this problem.also not a oil problem.
Welcome to the miniram and its fuel distrobution problems. I don't own one and have never tuned one, but it seems almost everyone has issues with some cylinders being richer than others. :( I hope somebody here can help ya out.
are you running new injectors?
I had some cylinders running richer than others (never totally got away from it). try switching the leanest cylinders injector with the rich one's (unless you bought flow matched injectors, the others can flow slightly differently).
I also drilled a 1/8" hole thru the fuel rail to connect the supply line to the crosssover tube (drilled inside the fuel supply fitting hole to the other passage) I think this lets the regulator effect the #8 cyl (and that whole side) better.
Yes the injector are match an it look like I ll play a bit more with the fuel map but i can't lean # 6 #8 also #5 #7. 6&5 are dark gray ,an 7&8 are black an gray. with #8 being the worst.I was wondering why no on the net didn't have too much to say about mini rams air problem at low an idle speed?
sound's alot like mine was before I got it tuned.
it was running rich at low rpm's (you could smell it) but cyl's #1 and #3 looked much leaner than the others, with #7 and #8 being the richest.
The closer I got to a correct A/F ratio the better all the plugs looked.
I should add that I also inlarged the holes in the fuel rails where they flow into the crossover tube (they are smaller than the ID of the tube, just seemed worth while).
