I purchased a 1991 corvette and the ABS Active light comes on as i slow down at a red light or stop sign. it comes on at 12 mph and goes off when i release the brakes. Do know what it will take to repair this issue
Seeing how nobody seems to change brake fluid, I'd flush it altogether to have a clean system. Suck out all the fluid, pour in fresh, suck it out once again and pour fresh fluid. Flush the entire brake system and see if it repeats itself. If it does, get a shop with the right scanner to see which wheel sensor might be acting up and being hyper sensitive.
I will do that. One thing I forgot to mention is you can hear the pump while the light is on but it doesn't set a code. Every once in a while the service ABS light comes on but goes away after the car is shut off and restarted. Again no codes are set. Thanks
Carefully pull each sensor and clean each off. You will find allot of gunk on each. That will make the system act strangely and make the light come on sometimes.
You can use a paper clip and ground out the ALDL and retrieve your code. I will state that there are two or three codes that are not able to be retrieved with the paper clip method.
you might fill out your profile with a location as there are plenty on the forum who have the proper tools.
