Bose Amp Question
Gang,
Are front and rear Bose amps interchangable on coupes? Can I use a rear amp in a front speaker?
They look the same and have the same bolt/screw pattern.

They have different p/n so they might not be interchangeable. The speakers are definitely different front to rear on my '90. The rear has one cone and the fronts have 2 so the amps might be different.

The 4 amps in a 90 Bose system are interchangeable. They are all 50 watt amps. If you are having difficulty with an amp, you can substitute one of the other amps to see if that cures the difficulty. There is an article in the tech section as how to repair the amps. Bose will rebuild them for $65 each. (That was a year ago). There are people who can rebuild them. I have 4 new amps & had the cd / cassette player rebuilt by Dr. Don. My system is awesome now!
