I have hurst short throw shifter in mine.

with reduced throw comes higher effort - but i love it !

i have never missed a gear (ex. Went for 3rd and gotten 1st ) which happened once - thankfully no damage was done.

Who sells this? I have no idea. I got mine in 2002

ZFdoc is the ONLY way to go; he can shorten your stock shifter and rebuild the shifter linkage; no one else does that. I had him modify the one in my 96 and it was one of the best mods I did. Oh, just for your info, HURST made the only shifter **** (ball) with the correct shift pattern; so it does look like I've got a Hurst shifter, but no, I really don't; the white ball is a nice accent to an otherwise all black interior. Of course you can just reuse your stock shifter ****.

mtwoolford, I recently bought a stock shift lever so I can send it to ZFdoc as a core (so I don't have to tear my car apart and wait to receive it). From what I've read, I agree that it's the best way to go. I like the idea that I'll keep the rubber isolation of the stock lever. I've heard that the solid shifters have a significant vibration. Question - is there an additional charge to rebuild the shifter linkage, or is it included in the shift lever modification?

Regards,
John

Never had a Vibration with the Hurst in the ZF6. Now in the C5/6, yes, they will get some vibrations under acceleration.

I can't speak for Bill aka ZFdoc, but yes when mine was done, there was an added charge for rebuilding the shifter linkage associated with the shifter stalk. Well worth it.
