Ok, I finally got my edlebrock, lower, and runners, on the car. I finally fixed my timing problem...
Now, From the passenger side of the car, I am hearing a annoying tick. I did the screw driver test, and its not coming from the valve covers, and seems to be coming from the injectors! They tick on the drivers side as well, but no more than normal, but the passenger side has gotten really loud! These are the 24 pound injectors.
If its not the injectors, I was thinking, MAYBE a leak at the egr valve, or tube.
Anyone know why they may be loud if they are the injectors? The car has almost NO gas in it -if that matters, and I was wondering if it may go away? Any advice or comments would be great.
...also wanted to add, that I pulled the computer/dist plug for timing and set it base at 6 deg. Then when I installed the plug to the computer, it advanced another 10 deg. I assume this is normal and may be caused by my ed wright chip?
Is there possibly anything touching the injectors that would amplify the ticking? Just throwing that out... May not have anything to do with it.
Some injectors are rather noisy, but I can't think of a reason they should be noisier than they were before. I suppose you could unplug them one by one to find the offender. That wouldn't hurt anything, would it?
funny you bring that up one of the injectors does hit the new runner (thank you edlebrock) BUT that is toward the front of the engine. The noisy one SEEMS to be at the rear, but I cant tell for sure. Again when I hold a screw driver to areas of the engine, it is REALLY bad at the rear injectors, and sounds like it may even be exhaust leak at egr, but I doubt that more and more as I look at it....
