Default Cats & headers

Is it worth getting rid of them on the Lt1 exhaust ?

Pretty much stock but the heads and cam project is starting in 2 weeks.

Would it be better to get some shorties after I have the cam and heads done then to leave the stock manifolds ?

I am in California the cheapest I can find Longtubes and have them installed is about 1200.00 dollars. I am not sure that it would be worth that
