I was wondering if the C10 LS swap headers or camaro LS swap headers would fit? There lots of room to fit headers on these cars once you get the AC evaporator out of the way. I started up my car earlier this week to find out one of spark plug wires wasn't connected fully to the spark plug. Was the first time this year I got to drive my car. Just about everyone stopped to take a look at the car and try to race me at what ever stop light I stopped at. Those 1 7/8 tubes makes my headers look pretty tiny.

I can't wait to see hoe everything looks going together for you. Thanks for sharing as much as you have.
All he is going to have to do is cut the collector and weld in a 45° bend.

I posted this image earlier in the thread.

I am curious how much clearance you have when looking from the rear of the car forward? Inch or two from the bellhousing?

Awesome, I hope I can make them work. Do you think the angle is a real 45 degrees or a little less? Just kind of looking at the headers they don't look like they need quite a 45 degree correction but I could be wrong.

Krusty, Do you know if the C5 headers will work with a 'batwing' oil pan?

My LS2 engine came with a C5 batwing oil pan and it would be a major bonus if I could keep it and use headers by just modifying the collector on the C5 headers rather than having to get an F-body pan.

I took one of those photos I posted previously and superimposed a right angle on it to guesstimate the angles. It looks more like a ~55° angle so not quite as tight as a 45°.

I will see if I can get a good enough picture from directly underneath. Then we can superimpose center lines on the bends to see if they are 45° bends or not. I assume they are 45° bends but the guy that build my car probably cut the welded end to make it work. Or, he got his hands on the Pacesetter slip reducer/extensions and hacked those up for the precise angle.

Hey Jeremy can you post the manufacturer of those C5 headers? Will be interesting to see how you make out making them fit. Honestly you might be able to cut off the collector and then take a 45 deg cut on the cut-off collector. Weld them back on, without have to buy any extra exhaust pieces. If you could take lots of pics during the process, that would be awesome. I also use 0.025 thou wire on my Lincoln 180 amp mig on any of my exhaust welding, just easier to weld without blowing holes in stuff. Not sure if that helps any, you might be a welder so you know all the tricks.

David, I would guess that your bat wing oil pan would fit the C5/C6 headers. Short of buying a set of C5/C6 headers and trying them. Worst case you could sell them off on kijji. I bet you could even make money on them. I can't wait to see how you make out with your LS swap.

I initially found these:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Performance...ry!54423!US!-1

I was looking at the cheap shitty stainless ones but decided that if they are "stainless" and less than $600 they are probably trash or really thin metal that might crack.

Then when i was shopping on amazon i found these for $30 cheaper and the picture was the exact same so i rolled the dice and ordered them

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCS18TI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCS18TI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I reached out to the seller of the ones in the link posted above and he stated that they were 16 gauge and had a 3/8" thick mounting flange so that's what I went with.

Since I am going to chop them up i don't really give a ****, just didn't want to deal with primaries cracking and stuff on the stainless ones.

I really don't know. I have an F-Body pan. I read that you might be able to use the batwing pan for the swap but you would have to keep stock manifolds for some reason.

You going to flip the rail like mine or are you re-plumbing the fuel lines?

Hi Krusty, Yes, I have confirmed with two people that have done the swap that the batwing pan fits in our cars, but does not work with the melarose headers (thus the need for stock manifolds) I'm hoping that reworked C5 headers like you have will work with the batwing pan as the extra oil capacity and baffling is a nice feature to have. I guess once I get my swap going I will find out!

Yes I'm going to flip the rail. My old intake needed a 6an hookup in about the same place as where the inlet will be when the rail is flipped so it should work great.

Yes, i got the intake, rails, injectors, and a nick Williams throttle body for $550. Including all sensors and bolts too. I think it was a good deal

Rlane5, I'm running a ebay special pressure regulator 3/8in supply line and 3/8 return. I run my fuel pressure at 60psi, with a vaccum port to increase pressure for driving around town. I find I have to run two different tunes one for when I unplug the vaccum port to the pressure regulator or one when I have it hooked up.

Here is a picture I took yesterday, my air intake hoses are getto for now. The turbo is Borg Warner S480 (80mm inducer) and 96mm inducer on a 1.32 T-6 housing. Would make for one heck of a strong set-up. I wouldn't run this turbo, I would run one that has the tial housing turbine volute and a different compressor housing. It will fits in there pretty decently, just would have to modify a few things.

Mike,

Any more pictures of this cold air intake setup? This exact piece is on sale on ebay for 150 bucks. Did you have to cut anything up to make it fit?

Here is all what I got for pictures. I made my own radiator support out of 1/4in flat, and is rests on top the two bars under the rad. Probably drops the rad down an extra 1/4in. You could also move the bars lower if you need to. $150 for the rad or for the CAI set-up?

The intake setup is $150. It looks like it would provide enough air, and be kept away from the engine heat

Here's what I did for the air intake:

I got an SLP tri-claw intake off Ebay. They are for 1991-1996 Corvette's but they actually still fit the ealier cars to, you just have to find a way to secure it to the radiator shroud. I think with the proper i take duct it would work well with an LS engine to. This thing looks like it can flow a TON of air. I also cut a little 'cold air breather' slot in my shroud to allow cold air into the air filters when the car is moving.

I like the looks of this intake and that it was basically a bolt in.

Just another air intake option.....
