I run a manual lock-up switch on my car. I can lock-up when ever I feel like it. You can get fancy and rig up the converter to unlock when you press on the brake. I usually just use mine on the hiway, as I really don't feel there is enough benefit to lock-up in second unless your foot is on the floor. Third is just a 200-300 rpm drop. I'm still running a stock converter.

Mike, how did you wire up your switch, was it A and F off of the ALDL - or another way ?
can you expand on that willie, how did you actually do it, is this a permanent set up ?
Aming the wires that the square connector going to the 700r4 are a hot and ground going to the tcc lockup solenoid. The fsm will tell you which one is for the ground. When the ignition is on, the solenoid gets 12 volts. When the ground wire gets grounded, the tcc locks. When my car was in the street, I used the lockup as a 5th gear on the freeway. Make sure the switch is flicked when coming off the freeway. Otherwise the motor chuggs. Now I use it at the strip to lock up the converter after the tranny shifts into 3rd. The car is a tenth to a tenth and a half quicker with the converter locked up.
anyone know how to correct speedo from gear swap from 2.59 to 3.54 in a 93? auto
For a mechanical drive/driven correction:
A 15 tooth drive gear and an appropriate driven gear(dependent upon tire diameter) and a correct VSS for that tooth count. A mid 40's driven (43 if you had 275/40-17 maybe)
These days with lack of parts an ERA would maybe be a better choice and certainly less aggravating since you don't need to remove C-beam to get at the transmission.
Electronic Ratio Adapter - There's maybe good/better/best -around here Dakota Digital gets mentioned most frequently. I've done a couple Abbott and many, many years ago Specmo offered one. Last time I asked Specmo they said NOT.
ERA might need some consideration since a '93 has ASR and ABS!!!!
Mechanical is maybe a preferred but parts are harder to source. I likely have a 15/43 but a correct VSS for the Corvette extension is I believe very difficult. I mentioned 275/40-17 NOT 18".
Here is a you tube video to wire-up a fourth gear only lock-up. I was going to install a third gear and fourth gear lock-up pressure switch, but I'm lazy.

how do I add lock up to mine?
I'm on a time crunch and don't have the money for a kit
It's a 1988 corvette with a 700r4 running a Carb since the TPI EFI had to many issues
