Newbie here,
Looking for some help on hooking up new shorties to my existing down pipe. The old original exhaust manifold looks like it has a compression type connection (attached picture) There is also a picture of my existing downpipe. I am trying to attach my new shorty header to my existing downpipe. The new shorty has a flat flange with gasket. Iis there some kind of adapter that will allow me to utilize the existing pipe to new header?
Or will I have to cut the compression type connection off the existing down pipe and weld the new gasket type flange to the existing down pipe. I thin I explained what I am trying to do. Thanks again for you help Art
Your going to need to cut/modify/weld something. You can either put a ball flange on the shorty but you will sill need to modify the down pipe (the whole thing will be too long) or you can put a header flange on the down pipe. Either way you need to change some stuff.
