I have removed the AIR system from my '89 and replaced with the eliminator pulley. I have had some trouble with my TPS grounding out and setting the SES light so I have not checked codes lately. Well I checked the codes and pulled a 32 along with the TPS code. I have no cat, no AIR pump, and none of the AIR plumbing left. What can I do to clear the code? How hard to eliminate EGR? Thanks in advance.
The only way I found to get rid of the code and keep it gone is to get in touch with MarchPolo and talk to him. I replaced all of my egr components and alot of other stuff but the 32 kept coming on. Marcho just turned the code 32 test off in the chip.
Mine was caused by a faulty EGR temp switch. It's the one on the EGR pipe that mounts on the pass. side exhaust manifold and has a single green wire coming out of it.
Don't know if this will be the same for you because of the AIR work you've done, but the part was about $10 from the dealer and took about 5 minutes to replace.
I had the same problem after I eliminated the precats and installed a high flow main cat. Code 32 at least once a day on the highway. Was willing to live with it since it was not affecting performance . It just came on, stayed on but would not be there on restart. Pulled codes every so often and it was always 32 (EGR). Since I installed the Ed Wright Stage II chip and a 160 degree thermostat, the code has not reappeared (almost a week). Time will tell if it was cured by the chip swap.
It doesn't seem to be affecting performance at all. The TPS grounding out is doing enough of that. I just hate that it comes on everytime I take somebody for a ride in the vette. It gives them some kind of kick to think that there is something wrong with my vette since they don't have one.
