Anybody experience this ? my car will not start after you've driven it for more than an hour and try to restart within 5-10 minutes after shutdown.
i've wrapped the new starter, but the problem seemed to have gotten worst sincce i put the cats back. i'm thinking of wrapping the cats to reduce the heat next to the starter. what do you guys think ?
it doesn't crank at all. after about an hour or so of cool down, it will crank with no problem.
i've replaced the starter, with a brandnew ac delco, but I'm also looking at some power master starters from scoggin dickey, which it claims to eliminate hot start problem. i would hate to buy another starter, since this one is only a week old.
if it doesn't crank, it's not spark or fuel..could be a bad cable near the starter that heat affects. if it's a new starter, i doubt that's it...it does sound heat related though.
when you turn the key, you can hear a click around the starter area.
and if you were to put an electric fan to blow air aroound the area to cool it down, it would startup sooner.
do you guys think, i would harm anything, if i put the same thermal barrier on the cats, as i did on the starter ?
thanks.
should i order the the thermal barrier or a set of header wraps to put around both L & R cats to be consistent.
i'm not sure what it would do. hope this doesn't shorten the life of the cats. i've heard putting header wraps, shortens the life of the headers. would it do the same on the cat housing.
