Default P/E Exhaust

Has anyone installed the P/E cat back exhaust system on their C4? Trying to make a decision on new exhaust for our 1996.

I have heard it, love it.

I'm gonna put Power Effects on my 86.

I dunno...I would really have to hear it in person...both in cab and out....just too much cost to what do you really get.....

what makes it really worth $800+? just the ***** that allow you to “tune” the exhaust....hmmmmmmm...

I have heard.....that even with the tuning capabilities....you still get the annoying resonance at 1800 or so......

Just seems like a lot....cause I mean...if you have ever changed out the cat back on an L-98 car....there's not much there....were talking less then an hour...if you know what your doing...and if your really experienced.....like me...dropped my cat back at least 6 times alone this year.....and now I can do it in like 30minutes...lol.....

but hey.....impress me...tell me why I should buy it....Iam up for comparisons....so far....only thing that I have seen that I like....is the corsa stuff...but unfortunately they don't make it for L-98 yet :mad

oh well

Its a TOP quality system, with great customer service and a NO hassle, 3 year warranty. The volumn adjustment really does work well.

It really is a great system.

Advantages are : Sounds better than any other (I have heard them all) , its deep and big block sounding, nice. It flows extremely well when in full open position and is relatively quiet (but MUCH more restrictive) when closed - nice to be able to adjust. Very good quality. Pretty nice looking oval tips (available in black or chrome , I think).

Disadvantages are : HEAVY relative to stock and other catbacks. Relatively expensive , though for a quality catback $1K is NOT that unreasonable.

Its a 2.75" system (same as stock) which is bigger than almost all (except B&B at 3 " :D ) and should be capable of handling much more power later if that is the road you want to travel (like me).

After researching all possible systems there are three that really stand out to me.

Corsa is GREAT for stock to moderately modded Vettes - NO resonance , good quality/fit/finish, reasonable price , 2.5 " system.

Power Effects is the best sounding , looks good, good quality , adjustable 2.75" system

B&B Triflow is the best looking, has Xpipe available in place of resonator, flows the most , good quality 3" system (but resonates)

Hope all that helps...... :seeya

you will love the sound, plus on days you feel the exhaust is too loud(like that happens) you can tune them down. i don't regret spending the cash on my power effects. :D
