Default reusable engine parts

on an `84 L-83, are the pistons forged? 160,000 miles, aside from replacing the rings are the pistons themselves ok to recycle in a new stroker rebuild? or does the piston/rod bore wear out too much to salvage them?

Thanks
Jesse

I'm pretty sure your pistons are forged. As long as they are in good shape and you don't go to a bigger bore I don't see why you can't use them as long as they are the type of piston you want for your compression ratio.

No I would venture to say these are Cast pistons.....but if you are going to rebuild.......Why would you use the stock pistons.....

Stroker pistons will have different centers...and probably be forged....compared to stock....

Which crank are you going to use...your stock block is only a two bolt..is this OK with you...no pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kit are you going to use to Stroke your engine????

Have you already started the rebuild????

So many kits available....research...to find the best one suited for your new build up...

Let me know what you decide on?????

I'M interested in rebuilding my '84 vette!!!!!!!!

thanks

think...think....think....before you leap.....
