1986 road track hdpe rated clutch and tob recommend?
I have visited my typical parts suppliers and i see the usual sks and acdelco and then a random name for the tob.
Can anybody recommend a "heavy duty" northamerican made part that is going to handle a road track condition.
I was running with ultra high temps due to a clogged cat and i think the to bearing took an early dump do to this.
I know there are some guys here who run the 4+3 hard! tips?
im going with redline mt-90 lube and non syn d3 atf in the od box.

I beat on this car like it owes me money, lately I've been mastering the "no lift shift". It just keeps working.
I race everyone I can, she has seen many "mexico" roads and a half mile event.
this is the 460rwhp/450rwtq procharged 2850lb 88 4+3 that I have added a 75 shot to, and cleaned up the tune. It's probably somewhere between 550 and 575rwhp.
if I can treat it this way, I wouldn't worry about 320hp in autoX or hpde.
just DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT shift it in or out of OD under WOT. Clutch it and shift like another gear.

good god man.
you are running that with your 4+3 and you get into 4OD by clutch shifting into and out of it?

I leave soft so I dont break anything due to shocking it, then shift at 6200. Note that it rolls past the 1/4mi cones on the shift light in 4th, then bogs like crazy going from 4th to 4th+OD (1:1 to .68:1) at 130mph.
This video was last April. Since then I have turned it up more.

Last call before I just buy an el cheapo (i have no way of knowing what is good vs bad) clutch assembly for my 86 4+3.
i shop at rockauto and they don't have the autolast clutch but they do carry quite a bit of assortment ranging from $100 to $200 for the kit including the tob, clutch, and pressure plate.
any recomendations before I order?
my trans jack has arrived and I will be dropping the exhaust tonight and hopefully dropping the trans tomorrow night.
i am awaiting a full tear down because I've never done a clutch before and I don't know exactly what is causing the squeeling pig noise and grinding so i want to see with my eyes before guessing on a parts order.

I just put a Luk clutch and flywheel into mine (honestly might as well do it, it's like $50 for the flywheel and then you know it's new). No complaints and it shifts like a dream. I think I paid under $200 for the whole kit.
Also, while you're in there, I'd recommend replacing the rear main seal, oil pan gasket and front main seal. They're really not that much more work with how far you are in, they're cheap parts, and it's good to know you won't be leaking oil everywhere (like I definitely was).

And dear God that 4-od shift makes me **** my pants even when clutching but holy crap if it really has held up... I know towards the end they got everything beefed up well.
Anyway, I'd say a stockish style clutch is more than fine. I don't know much about them though. They did stick stock ones behind Callaways though.
