High mount center stop light mod. Simple?
...Or whatever the abbreviation for that thing is. I think GM did a great job integrating the the third tail lamp in 91. It finally looks planned. But i wouldn't turn my nose up at the ZR1 just for having the old style.
Once again the standard has changed. Modern vehicles center stop light has begun to strobe a few times before remaining constant.
My question is, has anyone found a bulb that will accomplish this result? Is it nessessary to add a resistor or other wiring modification?
Also, Retro fitting LEDs, I purchased some LEDs that wouldn't even fit into the sockets. Correct size just the shape wouldn't set down into the socket completely. Kind of squared off just above the metal.
i like the updated look and think its worth a few bucks to make it happen. Thanks for your comments in advance.

Melting Slicks
Possible strobe solution
I know of no bolb that does what you want, but the effect that you want has been added to motorcycles for years. So a quick Google found this.

Radio Flyer Innovations has a flash module for the 3rd brake light. They have both a true plug-n-play unit and a unit that requires cutting and splicing wires. It's a good product and easy to install. They are also a CF Supporting Vendor.

I just had the third brake lamp assembly changed on my 92 ZR-1 to LED. We used the assembly from a 2007 Chevy Uplander and perform some simple modifications to fit it in the ZR-1 housing. The goal is to get an evenly distributed light display. Just using LEDs without a diffuser results in four bright dots of light that is not so nice.
