Comp test.
Can i use a comp tester on my cylinders even if the engine is cold? My manual say that the engine should reach op temp first. But I have already take away my headers so...

Yes you can do it on a cold engine....... the readings will differ a little though. They want the engine warm so the rings will be at the best oint for sealing and the pistons will have grown slightly. Are you looking for a problem or is it routine maintenance?......... :seeya

If it's just routine you'll be fine. If you have it slightly apart (headers off ) you may want to even drop the pan and check bearings. Unless your monster will include a stroker crank. If your goin THAT far the compression readings won't matter because you'll replace everything anyway........ the only thing you migh gain would be whether the block is sound ........ if it runs ok it probably is.......... might make a good learning thing thou8gh so you can keep track of the condition of the new setup :seeya
