Looking to install a kill switch on a 93 C4.
don't want to kill the battery/ stereo/ clock, just disable it.
My dad had pulled the ignition fuse. Worked great. Cranked and cranked but no start.
I'm thinking this would be good circuit to break.
Any thoughts?
I would kill the fuel pump, so you aren't flooding the engine as you crank. Splice into the trigger wire going to the fuel pump relay and you aren't worried about hi load on a switch.
both good choices, plus you can shut them off discreetly. Pulling fuses is a pain and obvious if someones watching. Most alarms are worthless and cause problems later on.
Assuming you just want to prevent it from starting, if the car has a VATS system in it then just put a toggle switch in that wire. When the switch is off it won't read the resistor off the key and won't start. Just a thought.
