Default Fitech Ultra Ram

Anyone know if the fitech ultra ram fits under a stock hood? https://www.jegs.com/i/FITech-Fuel-I...iABEgJ3KvD_BwE

I know the holley stealth ram don't fit but didn't see anything bout the Ultra Ram yet.

From Q&A:
The manifold as show in the picture is approximately 9" tall.
According to Google the Holley Stealth Ram is 10.1 inch high.

This is my modified Holley Stealth Ram compared to a stock one.

As you see it was 2 cm = 0.8 inch too high at the front. About 1 inch to get some minimal margin for movement.

Fitech Ultra Ram is going to be close but it might clear the stock hood.

10 cm = 4 inch

8 cm = 3.15 inch

25 cm = 9.85 inch

22 cm = 8.7 inch

Doubt it.
FiTech answer on Summit says: " The intake is 9.75" tall. "

Is that only intake or with throttle body? It might be possible to mount that upside down or add an adapter to angle the TB down.

No idea. Probably have to contact FiTech to get a schematic or something. I don't think their tech department even knows the actual answer.

They gave some weird answers like: " The manifold is 4.58" tall and the throttlebody is another 3.25" tall."

And then also give the 9.75" tall answer.

Edit: It most certainly looks close when you compare a stock TPI to it. What is a stock TPI height? ~9"?

Wow what a crappy place to put that idle air valve solenoid, someone should redesign the throttle body. Curious if anybodies 102mm throttle body would fit? Looks like Fitech is using the typical TPS and IAC.

I thought the same thing but if it was flipped over, and was on the underside, it may interfere with the thermostat housing.
Also, the way it comes is putting the throttle cable on the passenger side......

My only complaint would be the way it sits on the shelf and not my car. Not sure I wouldn't get into trouble with it changing the intake characteristics but it would be interesting to see. If it doesn't fit, there is a saw that will cut the fiberglass and put a hood scoop on it. When I put the 383 that was already setup from my newly tuned and wrecked F-body, I cut a hole and put a hood scoop. How it will talk to the DIC, ABS, etc, and the rest of the car with that aftermarket ECU might be a small challenge but if I was ever attempting a new intake, I'd buy the intake sans the ECM and the injectors.

Cool intake, but I don't love the angle of the inner runners a lot.

I think the idea is to separate the runner mouths to not pull from inside the other runner, since NA engines fill from 360 around the mouth of the runner.

Didn't want to start a new thread even if this is a couple years old now.

Has anyone tried this on a C4? Looks cool as a TPI replacement if it'll fit

You're going to need a lot more than a paltry 5500 RPM to see gains with that intake.

Looks to me like it'll stomp the snot out of a TPI...

Only if you rev it high enough. Without the RPM, it'll underperform the TPI intake.

"High enough" being anywhere north of 4500 rpm where the TPI just lays over and dies.

Maybe with a stock cam. There are dyno sheets out there of the L98 pulling to 6k and not cliff-diving.

Well it's a moot point anyway if it doesn't fit under the hood. I have an e-mail in with fitech tech support to see if they've fitted any of these on a C4 with an oem hood. See what they say.

Pro Flo XT will fit under the hood. Likely with some minor clearancing, but nothing major like cutting runners.

I'm ordering one in the next week or so and will detail the build.
