You can use either, although the C4s will be shorter but still allow full lock without issue. I've have had both the C5 and the C6 Z51 brakes with the C4 lines, no problem

Why not do a real upgrade and put ln c6 z06 brake parts or some of the other aftermarket options...
c5 brakes are an incremental improvement vs c4 12” and not really any improvement vs c4 13” j55 brakes
