I don't know of too many people who are happy with Star clutches. It seems like they are a decent clutch IF you can ever get the right thing. I know 4 people locally who use them, every one of them had to send it back in order to get the right thing. All 4 of themchatter like crazy, and none of them like them for street use. One friend hated his so much that he went back to a GM disc.
Just evaluate what you want to use it for and get the clutch accordingly. Also be 100% sure that the person you are talking with understands what type of car it's going into. Make them spell it back to you letter for letter if you have too.
ram has a higher end clutch that fits everytime & handles a lota HP. it's a stronger vette plate and some type of higher friction camaro disc. GM dealers even sell the brand a good deal of the time. i'm just hooked on these things becuase they are as easy as OEM to setup.

I am with Nathan, here...
my installation with a stage one was nothing but problems. the pressure plate was too damned close to the flywheel.. and it went from being a clutch to being a smoke machine. a total POS.
And SPEC was less than useless with customer service.
In short... JUNK!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot be more emphatic. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. :smash: :smash:
I just reprogrammed a 94 Z28 with a spec clutch. The guy hated his spec clutch. I backed the car up and the clutch pedal only works if you go all the way to the floor. You lift 1/2" and the car lurches forward.
Hammer im not sure wich one carmen put in my car but it
grabs really well(really well)!
only prob is allittle noise in neutral when idle is low.
ask carmen what i have youll be happy.
JOEY :D
My Stage 2 is noisey, but other than that, I haven't had any complaints. Over 5000 miles behind the 383. Oh, and I have the aluminum flywheel as well which makes it even noisier! :yesnod:
