Anybody know where the????

DERM is on a 90 vert for the air bag, none of my books show where it is at.

According to my '93 GM manual, the DERM is located in the center console under the radio controls. There is a note: DO NOT OPEN THE DERM CASE FOR ANY REASON. REPAIR OF A MALFUNCTIONING DERM IS BY REPLACEMENT ONLY.

If it is possible to follow from the steering column, the inflatable restraint wiring harness connects to the rear of the DERM.

It's attached between the driver and passenger knee bolster brackets. Actually the DERM is attached to its own bracket -- this bracket is attached to the bolster brackets.

what does DERM stand for??? I can assume by content what is does, but what does the acronym mean???
