here is where my problems are.... it's all wrong and the poor previous owner paid his buddy a bunch of money to do things he didn't have a clue about, right down to tightening the carb down so tight he cracked the ears.. or maybe he did it out of spite over selling it for so cheap, either way it needs fixed and replaced...
and i really cant bitch too much for the price, the stock wheels alone are probably worth what i paid for the whole car.
its all stock motor aside from the obvious... 120 k miles. pretty low in my opinion for a 28 year old car. i know those roller chevy engines are solid and like a rock, them things will run for 300 thousand easy. this guy was an aolder guy one owner. he never drove it hard. his thing was driving all over lower michigan down the highway with his wife to car shows.
In the event that it is not already apparent that this is a bad idea: the downstream parts (spider gears, side gears, half-shafts, u-joints and stub-axles) won't live long due to the torque multiplication. Blowing stuff up always makes for good stories, though.
reminds me of the 6 million dollar man theme, "we can rebuild him, make him stronger, make him faster...."
