The 1993 stalls after 15 minutes of running fine. No engine codes right now. Plugged a new ICM and ran fine for 15 minutes and stalled. No codes. Any thoughts?

Will car restart immediately? FSM? If car has to sit a while with a fuel pressure gauge, spark tester, and a noid light you can determine what failed. If car restarts immediately it will be tougher be sure throttle body is clean, monitor fuel pressure see if flickers.

The only code that shows is 28. The fuel pressure holds at 41. The car starts after 15 minutes and runs for 15 minutes and died. The ICM was replaced. Any thoughts?

ICM gets signal from ECM. Lt1 is different opti sends reference signals to to ECM. In turn ECM turns on ICM. Wiring, connectors, ECM, or fauity ICM. Silicon paste should have been applied under ICM when it was installed.

DTC 28 is quad driver 3 fault relates to cooling fans. Won't cause stalling.
DTCs 16, 41,& 42 relate to opti.
When engine stalls will it restart quickly? No check for spark and pulse either or both present. At 4 wire jumper harness
Term A black/red. low resolution
B purple/white. high resolution
C yellow. Ignition feed 12v
D black/pink. Ground
Check for 12 v C body side of connector
Check for continuity D on opti side connector to ground. If both are present - opti or jumper.

My 1993 has been in a shop for ten days with a mechanic that only works on vettes. He has not figured it out. Wou you recommend taking it to a Chevrolet dealership? He has read all of the posts and went through the diagnostics.

The car was purchased by my brother in law when new. It won the David Hill Mark of excellence award and I would like to keep it in original condition. Any advice on dealerships in SE Florida?

When engine stalls will it restart? Or does it have to sit for a while? Is he using factory manual?

You would want to call Chevrolet dealer to be sure they will work on it. Some dealers won't take pre 2000 cars.

It has to sit for a while. He is using a factory service manual. I was reading it with him.

I will contact the dealer tomorrow.

The local dealership will only work on vehicles 10 years old or newer.

Need to follow A3 no start chart when car stalls. If you want to guess: opti with new jumper. It does sound like you need someone else to look at it; since he hasn't figured it out using factory books

Need help. No codes on ECM. Replaced ICM. Bypassed VATS and the 1993 vette starts and runs fine for 15 minutes and stalls suddenly with no notice. Started after 20 minutes and revved to 1800 rpms and shut down.

The car has 41000 miles on it. Mechanic and I are reading FSM together and are stumped. Could it be the key cylinder or ignition switch on the column?

I had the fuel filter changed as it had not be done ever. My brother in law puchased the new. I got it last June with 41,000 miles. It had all original fluids and hoses.

The closest other place that I found that would work on it is 35 miles away. None of the GM dealers in the area will touch it.

Thanks for the advice

Could be the ECM, the 92-93 ECMs can become intermittent due to bad solder joints.

The question to ask is this, when it stalls what is it missing? Spark, fuel pressure, or injector pulse.

Are all of the ECM for 92-93 the same except for the PROM?

Yes, search for 16159278 and it used in some Camaros too. All you have to do is switch out the PROM (MEMCAL). Keep in mind a used one that has not been rebuilt can have issues too.
