Letting you know, I ordered a set of Bosch iii injectors from Southbayfuelinjectors and they should be here this week and will let you know if it fixes the problem. (since you seemed interested.)

Also doing fpr and egr valve. The passages look clear.

Presently have top plenum only off. Was a pita getting those little injector retainer clips off until I figured out you can help them along from the back side of rail.

ok, thanks I’ll be waiting to hear if that works, I’m hoping it fixes mine when I go to change the intake sometime too. I don’t know much but from what I’ve heard those injectors are everyone’s favorite for these cars.

Ok, done. It starts right up now. It was the injectors. Installed a set of new orange color have a Ford logo, supposedly Bosch. From southbayfuelinjectors.com. $172.00 total. Put in a fuel press. reg. too but old one was clean.) Clean up EGR system some. Check valve operation and pintle.

Also of note: The Cold Start Valve fuel line attaches to the back of fuel rail, with a small o-ring on the ferrule. The flange was not even finger-tight but somehow not leaking gas. I cannot help but think this could have been an issue as well, to some degree. (sucking air upon cooldown conditions?)

Yep, it showed up. That’s good news for you and for what I wanted to hear too. I bet you were really glad after putting all that back together that it fixed it so you didn’t do all that for nothing. When I get that new intake it won’t have a spot for the cold start injector so that will probably make it not start as soon as the key is turned but it doesn’t make a big difference from what I’ve read. If you get it tuned I think it is no difference.
