I have a 1985 Manual corvette and the moates tunerpro connector I want to connect to the aldi and see what is going on. the ecm looks like it says 1227730 but that ecm is for a 1990-91. I bought this car used and abused. any advice is really appreciated. I am having a chip that shut off the vats and egr made.
The chip in the ecm is Delco FTT 9538. Is this the correct one for the 85 . I didn't take it picture of the ecm. But, the ripped 3 x 5 piece of paper I that I thought was the I'd had 30 at the end of the number
Thank you for the input. I am pretty sure that the WINADL will read any of the ECM, given the proper baud rate. My problem is if my tuner is making a chip to modify the performance of a 1985 ECM but I have a different ECM will the chip perform correctly.
I did send him the chip ID.
That is my fear and the reason I started this thread. Hopefully my chip person will be able to make a chip that will work based on the information I gave him.
Only you can verify what hardware/software is in your car. Feel free to attach a photo of the ecm, mem-pack and cal-pack chips if you wish to do so, or provide a log file with scan data to verify the scan id.
85 should transmit 160 baud aldl data, but I've never tried to log data with an 85 myself. Somebody sent me a log from an 85 years ago, so it should be possible to log and record data with a 160 baud adx. Of course, 160 baud data is rather limited.
FWIW I have tuned a couple of 85s over the years, but they can be a pain due to the 24 pin eprom and limited data. If you have some old 24 pin chips on hand and a compatible programmer, its not a big deal, but its a bit painful to convert to a 28 pin eprom by soldering in the adaptor and/or socket booster.
Here are a couple of logs from one of my old science projects involving an 85 w-870 ecm...

Thank you

Luckily my chip tuner is also following this thread. He said I should be good to go. But, I still want to be able to read what is going on. That way I could if needed send him or someone a download of what is going on.
