Can exhaust leak cause KNock Sensor codes?

Can exhaust leak cause KNock Sensor codes?
After my dilemma with my car a couple weeks ago, I noticed what I thought was a valve lifter ticking. Turned out it was a exhaust leak. I then put DIACOM in it and it showed a code for Knock sensors, but only when I took out the aftermarket chip. The factory chip allowed the code to be shown, and it was pulling 8 degrees out. Also, the wiring was checked, good voltage and the knock sensors are new (14ftlbs torque/no teflon).
So, can an exhaust leak on my 93 with SLP headers cause the code?
PS, I ahve Hot Cammeds 396 with SVO injectors and Crower stainless roller rockers.

Aftermarket chips are generally tuned to be less sensitive to knock. An exhaust leak, roller rockers, and anything rattling can be picked up as knock. Even some really loud exhaust can be detected as knock.

Thanks, I will DIACOM it today , as I tightened up the Headers. They were leaking at the catalytic converter flange to header. Sounded like a lifter/rocker ticking. I had 8 degrees retard and a code 43 when I took the Ed Wright Chip out, as his chip wasnt showing the code. The factory and the other aftermarket I am starting t use.
