I have a 1996 LT4 and I need recommendations for the best complete bushing kit for our cars. I dont care if it is stiff. I want it to be stiff and handle better.
Global West for the front. Heim joints for the rear.
This is what I bought to install also. However, it sure appears that the Super Pro bushings could be a viable alternative. But the above sure are more precise.
Add to this Heim joint sway bar links pin top shock mounts, also available from Banski Motorsports, I bought these also.
I put the Banski rear suspension kit on my 86. I admit I had a minor issue with the spacers for the lower hub assembly, they were a tad too wide for my car. The change was well worth the cost and effort, It was something I'd do again in a heartbeat.
If you like curvey roads like I do, it's something I'm sure you'll like.
Prothane is a good value. Kit doesn't come with stabilizer bushings or grease boots. You may find they have deteriorated during suspension disassembly. If competition is in your future, you will want to how spherical rod end rear suspension will effect classification before you buy them.

When you replaced your batwing bushings with the SuperPro's, did you have to remove the OEM bushing sleeve that is commonly done with poly bushings? I have a set of SuperPro's ready to install, and no instructions came with it. Measuring the new bushings it would seem you could leave the sleeves in place (just have to clean them up slightly - had some corrosion in there).

You sort of misread what I said. I have not bought the Superpro for the batwing yet, so I cannot answer your question.

I guess I did misread what you said then. Sorry about that.
I did get a response just now from Lyle at C&S Corvettes regarding this. It may help out others: "Yes, you need to knock those sleeves out of the batwing before pressing in the new bushings.
Best advice I have for you on the rest of the kit is the following: You may need to trim the lip off of one side of the 460 Upper Control Arm Bushings to allow easier installation...it has no negative effects and makes life easier....can be done in about 1 minute with a razor. ALSO If you have an issue with the bushings slipping out sideways while you are trying to press them in, get yourself a piece of PVC scrap in the right diameter to fit the bushing and use it as a guide in the press."
