Default Knock sensor removal

Ugh, I have tried for over an hour. I tried a wrench which was a pain to get in there and I even tried a socket and it won't budge. Any tips?

If the 7/8" socket just spins than the best bet is to use a pipe wrench.

If it really is that stuck, you can (carefully) try it with a hot engine, that may help. Or try some penetrating lube. That should not be necessary though, since the body screwing into the block is made of brass and the torque is only 14-15 lb-ft. If those don't work, you may have to destroy it in order to remove it. Just keep twisting on it until something gives. Try a pipe wrench or long channel-lock pliers.
If the end is just spinning (as anesthes stated) then it's already destroyed. Fortunately, new ones are not very expensive. Good luck.

Spray some PB Blaster onto the area, let stand overnight, warm up engine and give it a try.
