Default steering shaft/column assembry

Whenever I wiggle the steering wheel left/right rapidly(not turning lock to lock I mean), I can here a very loud clicking noise coming from what appears to be from steering shaft, around where the tilt mechanism is.
What could go bad in there that could cause clicking noise?

Mity2 has a '95, so my experience on the early column may not be accurate, so I won't guess. Worn tilt pins are an obvious possibility.

There are four reverse torx bolts that hold housing to column which can loosen. To get access to all four pivot pins need to be removed. It is possible to get to 3 with upper housing still in place. 1/4" 6 point deep socket and a 6 inch extension should work to tighten them if you don't have the correct socket. Use blue or red loc tite to secure screws. The screws would only be removed to replace lower housing or theft recovery repair.

My 95 was making a lot of noise when I first got it. Turned out to the plastic cover over the steering knuckle joint.
