Default Dewitts single row

Hello, can anyone tell me how important the foam that comes with the radiator is? Looks like it would make it more of a pain to put the shroud back on. The reason I'm asking is I already installed it without it and the two plastic strips that were in the box. Everything lined up good. There were new bolts too I didn't use. Will it be okay? Thanks Mike

The plastic strips are to mount the fans back. The foam block some air from going around the radiator.

I didn't use the plastic strips to bolt the fans back up they seemed to go back on pretty easy, that should be okay right? Do you think it will make a difference if I don't use the foam? I can pull it back out if needs be.

I think I'll pull it back out and put the foam on it. Might as well do it right. Thanks for the information

Okay, done right this time, I'll never attempt to do any project on my car before work, man was that sloppy! Installed the Trans cooler too.

Well, between the Dewitt's and B&M cooler the trans temp is down 38 degrees. It was getting to 212 @ 70 outside temp, today its 95 outside and it reached 174.

I'd attribute that to the trans cooler. Still good results though!

Im thinking 70/30, the radiator has a 1" copper tube for the Trans fluid, plus the tank is aluminum.

Fair. More surface area should keep the trans fluid closer to coolant temps too rather than higher. I did drop almost 50 degrees towing with my truck just by adding a B&M plate cooler though. The radiator in that thing makes the stock C4 one look good.

The single row doesn't need the condenser upgrade either, does it?

No, the only thing you have to do is cut the rubber mount on the drivers side a 1/4" or so. The stock radiator looks anemic compared to the Dewitts
