Default Hawk hp+ brake pad squeak.

I get squeaks after installing hawk hp+ pads.

interestingly, they are whisper quiet right after installation. I lubed the right spots with the supplied grease.

then after a few hundred miles, the squeaks start.

this was my experience with last set of hawk hp+ pads

any ideas?

HP+ pads are gonna make noise. No avoiding it. MY idea would be to use their HPS or similar since you don't track your car.

If you break them in again that can help. Receding to rebuild the pad transfer layer

Oh, sorry. I didn't know that you tracked it. How did I miss that??

In that case I think you're going ot have to tolerate some noise on the street....and a LOT of brake dust.

Is that a driver’s car when you have modifications, track it and you get noises??

i bought a sedan recently and I am thinking it’s a passenger ‘s car since it has a large back seat.

I have used the Hawk pads before and had issues with all the dust and noise from squeaking. I broke them in very carefully and used them on a set of drilled and slotted rotors but the noise never went away until I changed compounds.

Breaking in your brake pads carefully to ensure they work the best when you need them the most!

Good luck!

HA HA!!

26mpg...but it’s a V6...no BS here...maybe better with no passengers and going down hill...if I run the air with passengers about 24mpg..... I am not very good at getting 30 mpg with V8’s....or V6’s for that matter.... I guess I am not a driver’s driver..

When I used my 94 as a daily driver, I decided to use the HP+ pads- nice braking, however lots of squeaking and groaning in stop-and-go California freeway traffic.
Off they came and HPS pads were installed. Braking was not as good, however the annoying noises went away.

Both types do create some dust.
