Engine service light

Does the engine service light reset if the battery is disconnected? '93 C4. I bought the car back in Sept last year and was interested to see if this lights up when the oil change interval comes up. The oil was changed July last year but when I got the car the battery was flat and kept going flat overnight so I was having to keep disconnecting it. Since figured out that issue but wondered if the service warning system would be affected?

Codes will clear by disconnecting battery. You should find oit what code, if any, is setting.

I think '93 was still OBD 1 so you can use the SES light to pull codes by jumpering ALDL pins A & B.

No codes to worry about just wondered if the service interval feature was reset if the battery was disconnected.

CHANGE OIL indicator requires a manual reset and the info is retained in the CCM. CHANGE OIL in the cluster should do a KEY-ON 'BULB CHECK'.

Reset procedure is in the Owners Manual or 8D section of the FSM.

SERVICE ENGINE SOON in DIC has no time/mileage service relationships.
