Is there a difference between the stock Delco-Bilstien shocks( 92 LT1 conv.) and the replacement everyone talks about? Also Kyb or QA1 for daily driving. My 92 has 27,000 on it and I feel every bump at less than 65 Mph, like there is no shocks. I sometimes feel wheel hop in turns on decent roads and moderate speeds. All opinions are correct to me!!!!!!
That's just to remind you that you're driving a Corvette.
Do you ever get the feeling that pieces of the car may actually fall off while you're going down the road?
Seriously though, while some shocks are softer-riding than others (and yours may indeed be worn out), don't expect any new shock to tame the ride very much. The Bilsteins are probably among the stiffer ones but I'm convinced that they're of higher quality than most of the other less expensive aftermarket shocks.
Where can you get Bilstein replacements that aren't from the dealer ($180.00 a each)? I have been looking for a direct Bilstein replacement for the stock Z51 Bilstein shocks as mine are blown I think. It feels like floating above the road at any speed over 40 or so.

I put KYBs on my 87 and they felt great. A good substitute for Bilstein.
My 92 has Bilstein with the FX3 suspension at $200 a shock I have been putting it off. Check out this place, they are pretty reasonable. I have dealt with them in the past. http://www.muskegonbrake.com/
