front end lowering question. space that i cannot close

there is a space between the top of the springs rubber pad and the bottom of the cradle.

furthermore the spring is touching the k member in the center of the car.

do i need to put the tires on and drive it and let it all settle?

Did you trim the hold down brackets? They need to be trimmed so that you can clamp the springs after the rubber pad has been trimmed.

yes fully trimmed the same amount as i cut down the rubber block

gibbles are you saying you could not get the spring/clamp to seat all the way flush with the underside of the cradle after trimming?

if so, does the spring make noise driving down the road?

i cant figure this out as i know i have read numerous accounts on here of members doing exactly what i did and they did not report any issues like this.

I had to place the shims from the top of the bracket onto the bottom of the bracket to take up the extra length in the bolts. Looks like the threads of the bolts are bottomed out and you cannot fully tighten the bracket.

answering my question here, i used two of the spacers on the bottom and that kept the nut on threads to close gap. previous poster was correct.

now i am going to unboltthe spring again and place the spacers ABOVE the spring as the front is too low!
