Hello,
I was replacing the starter in my 87 vette with the L98 and seen that a purple wire was not even connected to the starter and trying to figure out where the purple wire goes on the solenoid cause the pink one was hooked up to post "S". Now i have tryed to search it but i think i am checking in all the wrong places but cant find much the only thing i could find out is that maybe how it should goes is pink to post "R" and purple goes to post "S" is this correct!?
This is the diagram for my 84 no VATS. The R terminal is not used on C4 Corvettes it was used in much older Chevys. The ignition wire should be purple IIRC so not sure what the pink wire is. There may also be a number of fusible links coming of the B (battery) terminal for wires that are always hot. Over time the wires around the starter tend to get damaged and repaired because of their proximity to the exhaust headers. So the ignition wire could be any colour really. I think mine is green haha.

This is the circuit for an 88 which should be the same as your 87. Still the purple wire for original wiring but like GregMartin said someone could have rewired with a different color. See attachment.
Thank you both for those diagrams. From what i seen on mine it is a handmade wire that is pink and the purple one was sitting off to the side i will try taking a picture of it and upload it later today. I think they may have did a vats bypass at sometime maybe but not 100% on that but with the diagrams that you guys provided i am going to trace the wires back to see where that pink one goes.
