So for the past week I've been getting a fog on the inside my windshield, right above the defroster vents. From what I've read it's likely a heater core leak. I'm assuming it's original. The tubes coming through the heater box are not aluminum. Anyway, I've read to be careful removing the hoses. The hoses many times are completely stuck on the inlet/outlet tubes. Here is the tool I used to break it loose. A heavy duty set of tweezers I use to hold things when I solder. The tips are at 90 degrees. I slipped the tip under the hose and worked it around. Both hoses broke loose and slipped right off. For what it's worth.
In any case I would replace the two hoses, cheap insurance that you won't have to be in there any time soon.
Those things get pretty hot, particularly if you run the stock 195 deg. T-stat.
