I know my engine is numbers matching original...I'm looking for the number and think I found it, but to be sure where should it be? It is a 86.

Thanks all!

Casting number is on the back of the bellhousing bu the oil pressure sender. The last 4 of the casting number should be on the drivers side under the manifolds next to the motor mount iirc. Some might even have a partial vin somewhere. That I'm not sure of.

And this is what it looks like with the heads, intake manifold, water pump, air pump, and AC compressor removed. It’s hard to see with the rotating assemblies installed on the engine but it’s exactly where Roy’s diagram shows it. The last numbers should match your VIN.

Default Thanks

This was a huge help. I thought that was it but mine is hard to read, going to try to get in there and clean it off. The diagrahms and pictures were great and thanks so much for taking the time!
