Not long ago I added a tpi intercooled prochartger (8lbs). Everything seems to be running fine. Last week I finally bought a boost and fuel pressure gague. Boost gague seems fine, fuel pressure gague seems fine too, but the pressure reading is at 22lbs at idle and really doesnt go much above 30 lbs even under high boost conditions. Anyone got any expierence as to where the problem may be. How much power am I missing out on at that lower fuel pressure? TPI's booklet says stock 22lb injectors are fine with this intercooled blower...true, ?? Anyway, any input would really be appriciated!!!!!!!
Do you have a reprogrammed prom? An fmu? Please don't run wot until-you can check it with a wide band and scan it. I'd just hate to see ya' pulling out the engine.....
If you do have an fmu then it isn't working or needs a big adjustment....also have you upgraded your fuel pump? Or put an afpr on?
You should be seeing at least 38 pounds of pressure. As earlier stated... DON"T go full boost... you'll detonate and be picking parts out of your teeth...
If you have an FMU, it sounds like you just need to go through the proceedure to setup your idle and boost settings on it.. with 22 pound injectors you need to be running with at least 75 pounds of fuel at WOT...
If you haven't purchased one go to ATI ,or Carrol supercharging and get one.. they are about 200 bucks... I would think one was included in your kit.... are you sure you have the fuel lines connected properly? i.e. the return line is connecteed where the return line should be?
You also need to continue to routhe the fuel through your stock regulator.
Here's a question......before you added the fuel pressure gauge did you stomp on it? you said everything was running fine so I'm assuming you did. If this is the case you may want to check out the connections on the fuel pressure gauge or possibly the gauge itself. if things seem to be running fine and you are getting the horsepower then you are obviously getting the fuel. However if you are getting detonation and it's running poorly then something might be wrong and it's time to talk to procharger. just my $0.02.
I am getting fuel. I truely believe the problem is somewhere within the gague, as my car pulls crisply, never hesitates, etc...no problems.....the FMU is installed and seems to make little difference when adjusted...? I believe it to be a gague connection problem, but all seems fine there, cant seem to see any problems...as the connections are pretty basic....
