Default Which Heads?

I'm looking to do some mods to my 87 coupe, i.e. headers, cam, open airbox. I understand that one big issue on the L98 are the heads. Without going wickedly expensive, what are good heads to swap onto this engine? LT1, Vortec, etc? It currently has aluminium heads if that makes a difference.

Depending on exactly how far youre going with mods, your stock '128 heads may be fine. The main difference between them and the '113 heads in 88-91 is the exhaust port size, in terms of flow ability. I'd tell you to have them professionally ported if your end goal was 350-400chp. If you want further than AFR heads are the way.

So what is the goal and what combo are you putting together?

I hate dealing with machine shops. I do the heads myself or buy new. Cant go wrong with the jegs heads, for the money.
