You might keep shopping around - my indie had a D44, pumpkin, batwing, stubs, etc. all in storage - he took my D36 in swap and I paid him a few hundred bucks for the difference and the install. You could just do the gears, but...if you're gonna mess with it...

Here in the PNW we are fortunate to have a number of very reputable high end Vette specialty shops. I would suggest that you CALL these shops and see if they may have a 3.07 pumpkin & gear set in a back room from someone else's upgrade and see if they can do a turn-key swap out at a reasonable (to you) price:

Wong's Performance Engineering, Vancouver WA
Corvettes of Auburn, Auburn WA
Brad's Custom Auto,Seattle WA

Great info, thank you. I also checked out car-part.com and they also have some 3.07s for sale.

They are relatively easy to find for sale as many D36 3.07s get upgraded to D44 3.45s. The nice thing about the 3.07 is it still gives you reasonable highway mileage as well as better acceleration.
Do you know if there is any re-programing required with the 2.59 to 3.07 swap. Timing, speed, speedo gear, etc....?

On a 95 or 96 I believe that the speedometer correction is indeed done through programming and not via a change in the speedo gear itself. However if you call any of the 3 shops that I listed for you they will know

Thank you.

From everything I've read and heard including talking with Wong's and Brad's, still waiting to hear back from Corvettes of Auburn, I think you are correct. A speedo gear change isn't required and flashing/programming the PCM can correct the speedometer. Thanks again.

I swapped center sections on my 94 myself. Really wasn't too bad. I picked up a Hypertech programmer to recalibrate the speedo.
