If you have electronic control system, I think this is an indication of low freon or refridgerant. Guy

If you have an owners manual check there first.
Either there or the shop manual, somewhere, indicates the flashing mode is telling us a code in the C68 is noted.
The C68 will display codes. Check archives for C68 or heating and cooling.
The most common culprit is O9, low freon, (or 134A).
