vats bypass

'93 automatic bypassed vats many years ago...experienced security light on and no start off and on last few months. Took the resister setup out and found the crimps were loose. redid the whole thing and all was good for a month but now getting the light and no start again. Do I need to replace the whole thing again. I guess resisters go bad but this one still reads the same as new. or do I have another problem??

If the resistance across the resistor still reads the same as it did, the resistor is fine. Look for an intermittent connection somewhere.
