Yes it will. You will be having "heat" on you over and over. That is about the heat you will get. Not much gain, if any and it won't affect the coolant until the "heat" turns up the disco lights and you sit idling in summer then it might overheat.

What is overheating in your opinion? Have you checked the usual suspects, clogged up radiator inlet with a shopping bag or some leaves. These cars are vacuum cleaners. Also when are your fans coming on?

The small town heat will need to have a ticket to make qouta and loud exhaust is good as any
