Default 1985 coupe manual hvac

My coupe has manual adjustment for heating, vent and air. The slide for cold or hot won't move. I'm familiar with C68 electronic hvac but not the manual.
Any suggestions on what could be the cause of the sticking cold/hot slide adjustment?

That slider control moves a cable that's connected to a lever on the side of the heater box, that controls a flap which adjusts the mix of hot and cold air in your a/c system. That lever is visible above the passenger foot space. Check there for damage.

Agreed. I just restored my panel (and everything under the dash) and as part of that I'll try to provide a couple of things that may have occurred.

1 - If it wont move at all then it is most likely one of the following
- Cable is bound (least likely as normally it would just be hard to move vs not move at all
- Flap is seized (pretty likely). This would prevent you from moving the lever as the cable wont move and their isn't much play at all for the cable.
- A part or other debris has fallen into the channel the lever mech rides in. (medium likenesses). This is actually what was impacting mine. I was able to move it though but it was pretty stiff.

2 - If the lever moves but doesn't do anything
- Cable has broken internally
- Cable has come off one of the two mounting points. One at the flap and the other us at the control panel. There are 2 retainers for this. One portion snaps into place (holds the outer part of the cable in place) and the other is a push on connector that holds the actual cable to the lever.

Best of luck. I would first look under the passenger side of the dash. That would be my starting point as well.
